I have rarely purchased clothing from Target. And never from Walmart. But a lot of my fashion blogger friends started posting and raving about their Target and Walmart finds, so I decided to give them a try – starting with denim. And I must say, the quality exceeded my expectations!!!
Knox Rose Hi-Rise Bootcut Jeans from Target
Have you tried any high rise jeans yet? I don’t mind them. And since shirts, like this top from Old Navy, seem to be getting shorter, you’ll need a pair of high rise jeans to keep your tummy covered.
These Knox Rose Jeans are great. They have some stretch which makes them comfortable and are true to size. I am wearing size 16. Available online only.
The Floral-Embroidered V-Neck Bell Sleeve Top from Old Navy is the cutest. Perfect for September in Texas when we are still in the 90’s. I’m wearing Large.
And the icing on the cake – white booties. White booties and loafers are all the rage this fall. Are you going to get some? These are the David Tate Kona Booties in Off-White Lamb. I’m wearing an 8W. I usually wear and 8WW, but these are plenty wide for me and very comfortable.

Free Assembly from Walmart
Walmart’s Free Assembly brand is gaining popularity. Fashion bloggers say it’s their favorite Walmart brand because of the quality and price point.
I’m wearing the Free Assembly Women’s High Rise 70’s Full Wide Leg Straight Jeans. That’s a mouthful. And when they say High-Rise 70’s, they’re not kidding. I think I wore this exact pair to my first day of college classes in 1976!!!!
These jeans start flaring at the hip and are wide all the way down, which makes a very flattering silhouette.
Size up when you buy these. I’m wearing an 18.
The sweater is also Free Assembly. A very soft pleat-shoulder that also comes in dark navy and white. Fits true to size. I’m wearing a Large.
Booties are the Bella Vita Carlene Mules. I’m wearing an 8 1/2 W instead of my usual 8WW. The fit is great.

Signature by Levi’s at Walmart
These wide leg cropped jeans are so soft and luxe feeling. I didn’t know if I’d like them on, but I really do. Size up. I’m wearing size 18.
This outfit is an example of mixing high-end pieces with your more budget-friendly options.
The DKNY sweater is from Nordstrom and comes in black, white and yellow. I’m wearing a Large.
The Life Stride Foxy Booties from DSW complete the look. These booties run true to size.

So – what do you think? The jeans in this post range from $23-$35. At that price point, would you give them a try?
I think that’s the perfect way to try out new styles of jeans Cathy. I have yet to try Walmart, but I have been a big fan of Target, and it’s good to have competition between them.
XOXO
