This month’s theme for the Ageless Style Group is sleeveless.
A lot of women in our age group have opted out of sleeveless styles because they don’t like how their arms look anymore.
My arms don’t really bother me. Thank goodness because the Texas summers can be brutal.
But I do understand being sensitive about parts of us that are going through the natural aging process.
That part for me is my tummy. I have always carried weight there.
At almost 64, I realize that no tunic, column dressing, all black outfit, or even a burka can totally hide it.
So while I don’t get too uptight about it showing, I sure don’t do anything to try and call attention to it.
So let’s dive in and see what we think.
Sleeveless Blouses
Do you ever find a top that you like so much you buy it in every color?
That’s how I feel about this Vince Camuto Pin Dot Crepe de Chine Sleeveless Blouse. (I’m wearing a L)
Thank goodness it only comes in 2 colors.
Black with white dots and Ivory with black dots.
I love polka dots in the summer.
This is a blouse is super versatile.
The colors are neutral.
You can wear it with slacks or a skirt.
Jeans or shorts.
Add a blazer, denim jacket or cardigan for warmth.
Which even though it is hot as blazes in Texas right now, it’s always a good idea to have that 3rd piece for the strong blowing AC in all our buildings.
I am wearing the navy with white dots over a pair of Style & Co High Rise Straight Jeans. (I’m wearing size 16)
And for a bit of fun, I added my red Taos Sneakers. This is my fun little splurge purchase for the summer! (Size 8.5 W – I usually wear 8 WW, but these don’t come in WW. 8.5 W fits great.

All the Tucks
After years of tunics over skinny jeans and leggings, we are now in a season of tucks….
For people like me that don’t want to call attention to their tummy, this can be challenging.
There is the front tuck, front tuck with belt, half tuck and just about every kind of tuck you can imagine.
Sometimes I like one of these on me and sometimes I don’t.
I’ve found that it depends on the style of the top – if it’s long, short, fitted or boxy.
And the style of the pants – high waisted, at the waist or lower.
In other words, you just have to experiment with what you have on and see what you like.
Here is the white top with skinny jeans (Size 16) 4 ways.
Out over the top of the jeans.

Oh, I struggle with the tucks! I just can’t ever seem to feel comfortable with them. That half tuck looks so chic on others…on me, it looks like I forgot to tuck in the other half of my shirt! The best I can do is a front tuck, but I’m most comfortable with just tying a knot and being done with it!!

Marsha – it is a challenge. With a long enough tail, tying your shirt in a knot is a great option!
Such cute sleeveless tops. I like the half tuck with the belt best.
Amy – that was my least favorite when I was styling it and my daughter’s favorite. Seeing it in the pictures gives me a whole new perspective and now it’s my favorite too!
Love your choices! I am really wearing my sleeveless blouses more these past years. It is so hot and it feels so much nicer without a sleeve.

I don’t know if it’s just me but the front tuck photo isn’t showing up??
Anyways, it’s funny because even with all of the tucks you show, I don’t notice your tummy. at all. I especially like it belted for some reason.
I know that I like some kind of something with most shirts that just hang because otherwise it looks unfinished to me or dare I say, sloppy?? Not that it is sloppy, but it seems like it needs something.
Anyways, I love that you embrace sleeveless too Cathy. Our bodies are to be loved!!

The technology behind these darn blogs – my goodness it’s always something! Have no idea why it’s not showing up.
And boy, is our own perspective of our bodies different than others. My eye goes straight to my tummy and you didn’t notice it at all! There’s a lesson in there! Sleeveless in the summer all the way for me!
Oh Cathy, we are birds of a feather! Tummy is my weakness! I short waisted, thick waisted, no waste, and I have my Granny Lucy’s tummy!
No matter how thin or heavy I am, I think everyone is looking at my tummy.
But, like you I am working on letting this craziness go. My Hubby gave me a couple of beats for Christmas and now I am tucking and belting away!
We only have one life and we must live it!

Preach, Rosemary. Although my 2 year old grandson asked if I had a baby in my tummy today! LOL! In fairness – his Mommy has a baby in HER tummy so he asks everyone!
Yes! I absolutely do buy multiples of tops (or bottoms!) that I love in all different colors. I tend to either not tuck at all or just use a front tuck.
Glad I’m not the only one who buys multiples. If it’s a great piece – why not!
I love that you have this top in white and black! They both are beautiful and so versatile. I like the front tuck with the belt the best!

So you understand why I had to get both!:)
If you’re going to tuck, I think I like the front tuck with belt best.
I’m not working out as much so my arms aren’t looking great these days but in the Texas heat, I must go sleeveless!
I hear that. Sleeveless all the way these days!
I love the front tuck with the belt! It looks really slimming on you!
Thanks, Susan! You agreed with my daughter and the more I look at it, the more I agree too!
I love the front tuck! Makes it all so effortless and chic.
Thanks, Lucy!
